Talking about the Clean Power Plan
This evening, I will be speaking with the John Bachman Group of the Sierra Club about EPA’s Clean Power Plan. If you are in Columbia, drop by. The meeting starts at 7:00, and it’s at USC’s Green Quad learning center. For more information on the Clean Power Plan and South Carolina, check out DHEC’s Clean Power Plan webpage and Coastal Conservation League’s Think Energy website. CVSC, Coastal Conservation League, South Carolina Chapter of the Sierra Club, South Carolina Wildlife Federation, Southern Alliance for Clean Energy, Southern Environmental Law Center, and other conservation groups have been following the Clean Power Plan closely, and I look forward to hearing more from our friends at the Sierra Club about how we can act on climate in South Carolina. This is an important rule, and in South Carolina we can build on the successful collaboration that led to unanimous passage of the solar bill this spring and develop a plan that works for our state. Tonight’s discussion is part of that process. Duke’s Nicholas Institute has a great introduction to the proposal that I’ll have available this evening. Thanks to Jeremy Tarr and others at the Nicholas Institute for all of the work on this important proposal. -Alan
