State and National Advocacy Groups to Hold Climate and Environmental Justice Town Hall Days Before SC Primary

The Conservation Voters of South Carolina, National Wildlife Federation, National Action Network, International African American Museum, and South Carolina Wildlife Federation will host a “Climate and Environmental Justice Town Hall” this Saturday, February 22 in North Charleston.
Held just a few days before the state’s “First in the South” Democratic presidential primary, this event will shine a spotlight on the impacts of climate change and air and water pollution on South Carolina communities as well as stress the importance of local, state, and federal action.
Event speakers include Martin Luther King III*, former Flint Mayor Dr. Karen Weaver, State Representative JA Moore, national training expert Jamarr Brown, Letitia Dowling with Denmark Cares, and Herbert Rahim of LAMC.
Supporting Partners of the Climate and Environmental Justice Town Hall: American Rivers, American Institute of Architects SC, Southern Alliance for Clean Energy, Sierra Club – SC Chapter, Coastal Conservation League, Audubon South Carolina, and the League of Women Voters SC.
*NOTE: Mr. King must leave before the end of the event. He and other speakers will be available for media interviews prior to the town hall at a breakfast on the church’s premises. Breakfast begins at 9 AM.
