Solar Property Tax Clarification
The Solar Property Tax Clarification bill was introduced in 2021 by Rep. Nathan Ballentine (R-Richland) to avoid potential increases to property taxes for homes that add solar panels. This bill ensured that solar panels are exempt from the calculation of property tax rates and made us competitive with other states as our solar usage grows.
The legislation passed the House and the Senate and was signed into law in May of 2021.
