PFAS Bill

Bill #: H.3116

Session: 2025-2026

Topics:

Water Water

Outcome

CVSC supported this bill and it did not pass.

Legislation to prevent PFAS from entering public waters and drinking water is essential to protect both human and environmental health, as these chemicals are linked to serious health risks and are costly to remove from water supplies. By regulating PFAS, the state can ensure safe drinking water, preserve environmental health, and encourage industries to adopt more responsible practices. This bill would require the Department of Environmental Services (DES) to create and promote regulations that prohibit perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances to be released into the state’s public waters and drinking water.
