As South Carolina continues to grow in the manufacturing of electric vehicles (EVs) and EV equipment like batteries, motors, and charging infrastructure, additional incentives are needed to increase the rate of charging deployment and private capital investments by businesses and residents. As a result, this bill, H.3429, will expand the existing tax credit to apply to EV charging infrastructure as well as expand the eligibility of this tax credit to individual taxpayers who install EV chargers. This bill will result in more infrastructure for our electric vehicles, cleaner air, and greater economic development opportunities.
