CVSC is proud to endorse Rep. Kirkman Finlay (R-Columbia) for re-election to House District 75. A member of the influential House Ways & Means Committee, Rep. Finlay has been a strong and consistent advocate for the Conservation Bank – both to ensure its continued funding as well as fighting tirelessly for its reauthorization. In fact, in 2017 and 2018 Rep. Finlay was a co-sponsor of reauthorization legislation as well as a member of the Ways & Means subcommittee that identified and charted the path forward for the reauthorization legislation out of the House.

In addition, Finlay was a key leader on 2016 efforts that established historic shoreline protections along our coast and save iconic places like Captain Sams Spit. In his tenure in the House, Finlay has also supported electronic waste recycling efforts, litter reduction policies, solar incentives, coal ash requirements, and ethics reform.

Outside of the House, Rep. Finlay has been an integral part of placing over 3,000 acres under conservation easement – showing again his commitment to conservation and land protection.

Rep. Finlay is a consistent voice for protecting our way of life in South Carolina and we appreciate his tireless leadership to reauthorize the SC Conservation Bank, reform our broken energy system, and advance other important conservation issues.
