Don’t miss this chance to say thanks
No one should have to breathe dirty air. No one.
Unfortunately, last month the U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill that would delay a new ozone air quality standard from coming into effect for eight Years, from 2017 to 2025.
Mark Sanford and James Clyburn were the only two members of our state’s delegation to take a stand against this reckless piece of legislation.
Sanford and Clyburn didn’t just do the reasonable thing — they did the responsible thing, because the air we breathe can seriously harm our health.
I’d like to invite you to join me in thanking these two Congressmen for fighting to protect the health of our families by opposing clean air rollbacks.
Sanford said of his vote, “Dumping chemicals in Campbell Creek near where I grew up may have enhanced the chemical business’s profits – but it hurt the rest of us downstream. … There is always a balance… [and] I thought this bill went too far.”

Our elected officials face a lot of criticism. So, it’s important to let them know how much we appreciate them doing the right thing.
Will you take a second to send a quick thank you note?
Thankfully, the bill has only passed the U.S. House.
If the U.S. Senate moves to take any action on this legislation, we’ll make sure you’re the first to know.
Until then, please take a quick moment to thank Reps. Sanford and Clyburn for their votes to maintain safeguards for healthy air.
