CVSC Statement on EPA Move to Repeal the Endangerment Finding

Columbia, S.C.—Last week, in direct opposition to its mission, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) moved to repeal the Endangerment Finding, a scientifically supported framework for regulating greenhouse gas emissions.

Our health, homes, and quality of life depend on clean air and safe water. Repealing the Endangerment Finding disregards decades of established science, shifts the burden of climate impact to families and taxpayers, and allows major polluters to avoid responsibility.

We know the costs of this rollback are real: worsening health conditions, increased environmental damage, and widespread fiscal impacts on communities across the nation.

CVSC will continue advocating for commonsense policies at the state level to keep South Carolina a place where families can thrive. We deserve action that moves us forward, not backward, when it comes to protecting our future.
