CVSC Endorses Keishan Scott for House District 50
COLUMBIA, SC — Conservation Voters of South Carolina (CVSC) proudly announces its endorsement of Keishan Scott in the upcoming special general election for South Carolina House District 50. This seat was previously held by Representative Will Wheeler, who resigned earlier this year on good terms.
Scott currently serves on the Bishopville City Council and brings valuable policy insight from his experience paging in both the South Carolina House and Senate. A graduate of Lee County High School and a University of South Carolina alum with a degree in social work, Scott has remained deeply engaged in his community through public service and grassroots organizing.
Scott is a strong advocate for holding polluters accountable—an issue that hits close to home in District 50. His environmental priorities are deeply informed by lived experience. With family members battling asthma and a community affected by landfill pollution, Scott understands firsthand the link between air quality and public health. He’s also committed to tackling the growing threat of forever chemicals like PFAS contaminating South Carolina’s water systems. His recent support for a County Council resolution backing solar energy underscores his dedication to clean air, public health, and a sustainable energy future.
House District 50 is a rural district rooted in agriculture with over 28,000 registered voters. It encompasses Lee County and parts of Sumter and Kershaw counties. Election Day is Tuesday, June 3. Early voting runs from Monday, May 19, through Friday, May 23, and resumes Tuesday, May 27, through Friday, May 30.
