Moses Pyatt is the son of Ms. Brenda Pyatt and the late Mr. Moses James Pyatt. He is from Charleston, South Carolina, and is a 2012 James Island Charter High School graduate. In 2018, Pyatt earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Music from Morris College in Sumter, SC.
At Morris College, Pyatt was governed by three things:
● The school’s motto: “Enter to Learn; Depart to Serve;”
● His mantra: “Dream, Believe, & Achieve;” and
● “God gave me unconditional love so I can give love unconditionally.”
At Morris College, Pyatt considered himself a “scientist” of politics.
After graduation, Pyatt worked with the James Smith Campaign for Governor in South Carolina as Political Director of the Pee Dee Region and later, as a Field Organizer with the South Carolina Democratic Party during the 2018 midterm election. Following the midterm in April 2019 and 2020, Pyatt worked with the Joseph R. Biden For President Campaign as the Midlands Regional Political Director in South Carolina.
After the 2020 SC Presidential Primary, he was selected as Deputy Political Director of Ohio, and Regional Political Director, of Cuyahoga, Ohio. Due to COVID-19, Pyatt served as Special Project Manager for the Mid-Atlantic Pod when the campaign moved to remote campaigning.
From July 2020 through October 2020, Pyatt worked with the Coordinated Campaign in North Carolina as Deputy Coalition Director.
In October 2020, Pyatt returned to South Carolina to work with the All In Van Tour, a team of eight that traveled the state conducting hybrid events to help Democrats get elected.
In January 2022, Moses was hired as Deputy Director of the Great Lake Political Academy in Michigan. His duties entail assisting in training and recruiting robust and diverse candidates to run for office or staffing campaigns.
He currently resides in South Carolina and has brought the skill and knowledge to help the next set of leaders for South Carolina as the Candidate Recruitment Training Manager
